Multi-page, multi-form PDF document
Thursday, April 27, 2008

The initial service supported single-Form, multi-page PDF documents. That means one PDF document is created by applying data to one or more pages from one Form. Now, ServePDF supports the following combinations:

  • single content, single page from one Form, one PDF document
  • single content, multiple pages from one Form, one PDF Document
  • multiple content, each on one page copy from one Form, one PDF Document
  • multiple-content, multiple-page from multiple Forms, one PDF Document

For example, you can have a report per product. If you provide data for multiple products then that will produce a PDF document with a report on each page. In addition, you can have a different Form for each product and still produce one single PDF document.

Consequently, the XSD Schema has been updated as well as the client libraries.

Feedshot: RSS feed snapshot of entries converted to a PDF document
Thursday, February 7, 2008

A new service has been added that is able to read RSS feed entries (plain text or html) and compose a new PDF document. The service requires two URL parameters. The feedURL parameter refers to a RSS (0.90, 0.91, 0.92, 0.93, 0.94, 1.0 and 2.0) feed. The documentURL parameter refers to a PDF Form for a single feed entry.

Compared to existing solutions on the net, this service allows you to use your own PDF document template. To make this happen, create such a PDF document using the field variables. See API Documentation for the full parameter descriptions.
